Adhar project is started or establish in 1989 in the favor of helping or support the people suffering with mental problem.
Adhar is a indian word that means support.
So it will become more easy to identify a person by Adhar registration. Then why people fight against it ?Don't they want to be identified?

In many countries there is unique identification number. But in India all system has loopholes. So people had a negative thought that all these data may be used for some other purpose especially for discrimination. That is why most of the people keep away from the project. What are your opinion?

an issue in this regard is that the indian aadhar system is purely based on strict matching [ not like the fuzzy matching used in many countries}strict matching has been implemented as a means to strike out any loop holes in this system.but this strict matching technology itself causes a lot of problems.

for any sort of document verifications you need not provide any address proof.just the aadhar number would be enough. the system would check your details and report whether you are eligible or not.but strict matching used here can strike down a perfectly genuine person with the same address if any small differences are made in the address. we all know how fragile the address system of the country is particularly in the south where we have a system of house names and not house numbers. this could be a real headache foe the authorities.

I share concern on strict matching system. It is rightly pointed that the address system is not so perfect. In villages, there are no house numbers and so the difficulty. Even in my residential area at Agra, there are many houses with same house number differentiating only with addition of 'a' or 'B'. There are also persons with identical or similar names and can be differentiated only by father's name. The system needs a change.

main problems that are being debated against aadhar are:

  1. government allowed UID to operate for almost three years without seeking legal cover
  2. Illegal immigrants too could get Aadhar cards issued by the UID project, helping them avail of social sector schemes and putting them on an eventual path to citizenship.
  3. There is no feasibility study of the project
  4. It is built on unreliable and untested technology
  5. There is lack of coordination and difference of views between various departments and ministries of government on the project
You are right Deepak. Before starting any project a feasibility study is highly essential. Here it seems the project started in a hurry for some thing. So people approached it with a doubt. It is still continuing.Government has to clarify the doubts of citizen first to make it successful.

There should be integrated action for census and adhar card. The photographs, figure prints and other identifiable marks as well as necessary data should be collected during the process of census itself. this will ensure best utilization of resources and also there will be no discrepancy between census figures and that collected by Adhar card staff.

I think this system will help our administration for security as a person will be a unique number. To tress a man it will help.In other sense many citizen have no photo identity card.It will help to identify anybody.

I think that our government donot have idea that how much it costs so they started but now due to money crises they want to stop it.How they are wasting our money in a simple way.

The project is unreliable mainly because of the lack of reliability. My family of 3 had gone for registration and it was only me who got the card till now. There is no improvement in mechanism being followed even in existing system. The voter card being given and the aadhar card being given appears to be same. People can't even distinguish this project from earlier ones owing to the lack of seriousness
