Old Format Cheques Can Be Used For 3 more Months

So there is nothing to worry about, the old remaining cheques can now be used for 3 months according to the RBI...

    Actually they must be feeling shortage of cheque books at such a short notice to such a big customer base. I think they will forget that they ever issued such an advisory later but they will print all new cheque books in new format.

    Hmmm. So that means we have extended time for using old cheques.. Sunil's answer above is having fair reason about it... Thanks for the info.

    Yes that is possible since there is such a lot to be done and they will be gaining 3 months to put things in place, and it also is good since the old cheque books will be put into use instead of being dumped and wasted !

    I too was thinking of the wastage that would take place while disposing of the old unused cheques...this is a good measure that has been brought in by the RBI..

    Thanks to government decision that lot of paper would be saved also the customer would get extra time to arrange his cheque book. This thread is closed now.
