Yes. Chandrababu, the CM is keen on bringing INS Viraat to Vizag from a tourism attraction point of view as well as from the commercial viability. Vizag has better revenue possibilities as it has airport connectivity. INS Viraat was commissioned in to the Indian Navy on May 12, 1987 and since then served as the flagship of western fleet.

Locating INS Viraat in Vizag is a good decision. But will it induce commercial and tourist activity is not clear.

It will. Because, Vintage Submarines and tanks used in Indo Pak war already attracting tourists from all over the Country. It was here A submarine was sunk by the Eastern Naval Command. For this reason Vizag is going to earn lot of revenue through Tourism.
