The Karnataka state government led by Siddaramaiah has been constantly entangled in some controversy, scam or misdeeds after the other. To appease the minorities they were even prepared to mis represent history  with regard to Tipu and his so called patriotism. Last year this led to violent protests but does the Congress govt care ? They only do what they think is right which is most of the time wrong. Thankfully this time the High court has stepped and asked what is the need to celebrate Tipu Jayanti when it is clear that he was only interested in defending his own terrorists..

The matter is subjudice. Obviously, the state government will give reply and the court will decide the issue. However as regards Tipu serving only personal or territorial interests, we should remember that India was not one nation when British entered India. The credit of making India one nation really goes to British. even the first war of independence in 1857 (called mutiny by British) was not really for freedom of nation. All kings and queens including Rani Jhansi were fighting for their own small kingdoms and territories rather than nation that really did not exist then.

Observing the Jayanthi of a Butcher like Tipu Sultan who have slaughtered hundreds of Local Kodavas during his reign sounds funny. The CJ said Tipu is not a  freedom fighter, but a ruler of a Princely State.

The Hindu kings and queens did not butcher Hindus nor did they try to convert anyone , they were the rightful citizens and the kingdom was rightfully theirs not snatched through invasion, which is what Tipu did. He was a invader who came and butchered people and went on a mass conversion, but when his own position was threatened, he fought the British..

It is not fair to say that British make India one nation. During British rule India had many independent states. All these states have their own flag and constitution. Although all these state had treaty with British. It is right that all kings and queen fight for their states but their enemy is one, British.

Yes. British is our enemy. British Divided the Country and its from them We learned Divide and rule

Yes British divide in Hindu Sikh and Muslim, but now India have more that three hundred groups of peoples.

History gets interpreted, re interpreted and misinterpreted for vote bank gain. It's high time we leave this going back to history and glorifying it or misguiding it for personal and political gains. The demand of the time is to stay in present and glorify it for a better future. It is time to stay here and now, act and make a glorifying history. Rather than the expenditure on these jayantis and stuff, let us invest in present-- for better education, better healthcare facilities, better roads..... so much needs to be done rather than these few celebrations for political gain.

It is my view and one can disagree

I would totally agree wit that, why indeed shd the govt bother about a man who was according to many reports a communal and religious fanatic who killed , butchered and threatened people to convert ? It is only a twisted mind that glorifies such people..

Court has not given a stay order. Why this fuss, if you do not like it do not participate.

Who wants to participate ? we have a right to discuss the wrong doings in our state and country an thats what is being done here . The court has shown its displeasure , that is clear to anybody..
