Which consumes more power?Laptop or Desktop?

I think desktop may consume more power because of seperate monitor and CPU. I may be wrong also.

If anybody knows the answer, please post it here?

    No doubt at all, Desk top computer consumes more power comparative than Laptop.

    Desktop with consumes more power than laptop. but servicing in very costly for laptop even for a minor fault. compared to that power consumption will not be an issue.

    For executive laptop is ok, when carrying out, but for home use PC is preferable.

    Its DESKTOP......power consumption is more in Desktop due to its monitor.

    Laptops are still using same type of HDD(rotating disc type) but compact one. flash drives are now coming with only few models like Apple's Mac Book Air and Some models of SONY.

    Laptops have a battery ---- This consumes less power compared to the Desktops....

    Yes Desktop consume more power because lot of thing may be attached like speaker, web cam etc and Individual desktop also consume more power.

    In my opinion also it is the desktop that consumes more power.If you have both just try for one hour on both and read the metre!!!
